NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of 5 in which he loved participating in various card games at a young age. He discovered himself getting really aggressive in these card games as he was competing against his father. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to put higher education on hold for a bit and moved to New York City to compete in some serious chess. While playing chess, he was brought in to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s first two years were tough as he played countless hours and don’t win a majority of the time. He earned some extra money by being an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He theorized he possibly could improve his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He brought about an effort to get more rest and focus attention more on the game.
The definite improvement in his skills began when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the best players would frequently challenge one another. Howard was able to access several of the greatest players in chess. With their assistance, he would hone his logical thinking abilities. He applied these strategic ideas to the game of No-Limit holdem.
Howard also assisted his sibling Annie Duke learn poker. Annie was an excellent student of poker as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the correct decision. Howard told Annie to move out to Sin City and play in the World Series of Poker competition. She is one of the strongest female players the poker world today. Howard Lederer moved to Vegas in 1993 and participated in money games for the successive decade. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, Howard decided to participate in more tournaments.
