NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the negative feedback from others destroy his goal of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed many of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and a continuing love for poker. He says that he is learning every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. He admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Although Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
