Fix Attention on Annie Duke
by Bo on December 1st, 2013
Mrs. Duke might not have captured her 1st World Series of Poker Bracelet until two thousand and four but she is still one of the most powerful poker competitors around the cash games at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie’s longawaited World Series of Poker bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha hi lo.
While competitors from the "younger crowd" of poker run wild following a huge win at the tournament, Annie heads back home to be "mom" to her four kids. Annie was born in New Hampshire into a family of poker players. If you do not accept that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to gamble on the game.
However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has succeeded at her cut of hard tables, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions. They are both players that have the ability to win the large cash and do so with a grin.
Annie is a tough player at any table considering that she is a natural poker player, but it is a little more than just being great at the game. Annie is surprisingly intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she double majored in Psychology and English.
When you are seated across from her at the poker table you’ll see Annie Duke is there to play the game and she begins "sizing" you up as soon as you sit down at the poker table. If you cannot wager like a winner, then don’t bother.
Acquiring over 3 million dollars in tournament competitions, Annie branched out to become a adviser to both the UltimateBet poker room and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who was looking to hone his techniques and become a power at the tables.
You might just see her at the Bellagio, you’ll definitely observe her on TV and you might even play against her in a web-based poker game, but don’t count on an easy win. Except of course you’re a champion-in-the-making, you won’t beat her. However, it would be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
